Salary $20 – $40 an hour

To keep up with demand of our rapidly growing customer base, Omaha Handyman Service is seeking an experienced Handyman or Handywoman to join our award-winning team. If you’re a highly motivated professional with skills in multiple trades and have a successful track record as a carpenter / craftsman / handyman, we’d love to talk with you.

This position would ideally have a variety of home improvement and home repair skills. Being a handyman takes a lot of knowledge and skill, and yet so often customers appreciate the small things like being on time, listening to needs, and being honest. Ideal candidate:

• Highly motivated professional with skills in multiple trades
• Strong work ethic
• Excellent problem solving skills

• Solid communication and interpersonal abilities
• Ability to interact in a positive way with a wide variety of different types of clients
• Punctual
• 5+ years of experience working directly with homeowners
• 5+ years in home maintenance, repair, and remodeling

Ideal Skills:

• Carpentry (Rough & Finish)
• Tile
• Light Plumbing
• Light Electrical
• Door & Window Installation
• Drywall repair
• Flooring (particularly LVT, tile, and engineered wood)
• General home repairs and maintenance

Responsibilities:

Candidate will need to have expertise in multiple types of home improvement, home repair, home maintenance and remodeling. You must possess basic construction skills, be organized, and effectively communicate with others with a positive attitude.  If you possess least 3 of the following skill areas, we’d like to talk to you about potentially becoming a part of our team:

• Able to complete small to medium residential and commercial repairs, remodeling, and home improvement projects without supervision
• Able to communicate with customers about scope of work and cost estimates when required
• Able to manage time to effectively meet deadlines
• Able to complete invoices, and weekly reports
• Knowledgeable in General Carpentry – rough and finish
• Knowledgeable in Handyman, General Home Repairs and Maintenance Work

Requirements:

• Current Driver’s License and Insurance
• Must be able to speak and write in English
• Must have a reliable work vehicle
• Must have own small tools fit for many job types. Larger tools may be provided.
• Must have experience in the remodeling or home repair trades
• Must pass screening process which includes a background check
• Independent Contractors must carry liability insurance and workman’s comp
• Must have a smart phone with internet access
